Get clear answers about Dr. Belin’s in-home pediatric care, membership plans, services, scheduling, and personalized support for your family. In Home Peds is the first and only exclusive house-call pediatrics practice in the Omaha metro.
Imagine a return to house calls, where a visit isn't a 10- or 15-minute rush job, but is instead a relaxed, heart-to-heart conversation in your backyard, watching your 10-month-old play on the grass with toys and your pre-schoolers swing on your playset. You talk about everything - sleep, nutrition, learning and development, play, mental and spiritual health…you name it, because the clock isn’t ticking.
Well or sick, Dr. Belin will see you in the convenience of your own home. No long waits in uncomfortable, germ-filled clinics! You can avoid the stress of having to time naps and feeds with appointment times and needing to load everyone into the car for a trip to the clinic. In-home visits also provide opportunities to practice behavioral interventions - Dr. Belin can see things in real time, in the child’s actual day-to-day environment. The best way for Dr. Belin to help you develop healthy routines is with in-home consultations.
The membership model allows Dr. Belin to provide patients with personalized and customized care. Throughout her career, Dr. Belin has worked to keep her practice small in an attempt to remember the health histories of her patients from visit to visit, but she still has had several hundred patients at a given time - far too many to know in a meaningful way. With In Home Peds, you will be one of a much smaller number, getting much more in-depth attention as a result. Dr. Belin’s dream is to be able to treat her patients like they are family, which is made possible by bypassing insurance reimbursement and instead utilizing a monthly membership model. With direct access through calls or text, you can contact Dr. Belin when concerns arise, rather than fretting at home whether it is worth the hassle and expense of another doctor’s visit. As long as you are in town, you will never end up in an urgent care stuck with an after hours bill again. Dr. Belin is just a phone call away and, as a home school mom, actually prefers the evening and weekend appointment times to check in on her patients and keep them out of the ER. Ten-minute visits will be a thing of the past. Unhurried visits with meaningful conversation will be the norm. You will never need to leave your home to get care, as Dr. Belin will come to you.
Did you know there are nearly 20 member-based practices in our area of Nebraska? This number, which continues to grow, serves thousands of patients. This speaks to the fact that the membership model is affordable for most families. Many grandparents gift memberships. According to a recent survey, average out of pocket health care costs for families with insurance is $1,750 per child per year. This is not surprising, since over the course of a year, several office-visit co-pays, a visit for a simple rash ($150+ out of pocket), a follow-up visit for an ear infection ($300+), and an urgent care visit or two ($??!!) can really add up. All of these types of visits are included in your membership fee, no matter how many visits, phone calls or texts are involved. What’s more, the in-home aspect saves you gas money and Dr. Belin’s preference for evening appointments saves time away from work and/or school. Bypassing insurance for most of your children’s health needs also cuts down on time spent arguing with insurance about coverage. In sum, with this model, the personalized care, direct access and in-home visits at all hours of the day are premium perks and conveniences that many families realize more than compensate for the additional cost.

Most medical expenses that would be out-of-pocket at a traditional practice are completely covered by your monthly membership fee. The following services involve an extra charge:
▪️ Specialized lab tests involving blood draws (If you have insurance, Dr. Belin sends an order for the lab to be drawn at Children’s Hospital and Children’s then bills your insurance, as is currently done at most traditional offices in Omaha. Local labs that provide tests at very reasonable cash-pay prices are also available for older children.)
▪️ Imaging and Radiology (Dr. Belin sends in the necessary order and the facility will bill your insurance)
▪️ Immunizations (Dr. Belin will administer vaccines in your home, partnering with VaxCare who will then bill your insurance for the vaccine)
All patients should have health insurance to provide coverage for catastrophic events, hospitalization, vaccinations, and other expensive unexpected health needs. Just as car insurance covers collisions and major repairs but not car washes, oil changes, or new tires, your health insurance covers expensive hospitalizations and procedures but you pay out of pocket for the vast majority of your healthcare.
In general, Dr. Belin recommends and follows the vaccination schedule approved by the AAP, and will administer those in your home during visits. Dr. Belin uses a service called Vaxcare, which bills your regular insurance provider for the vaccines administered.
Of course! As a homeschool mom, Dr. Belin has preferred seeing patients during evening hours her entire medical career, and she plans to continue this perk but will also now be available morning, afternoon and weekends as patient needs arise.
You contact Dr. Belin directly! Often, issues can be resolved over text, phone or Facetime, but if necessarily Dr. Belin can pay you a visit.
